Lowell's Restaurant Seattle

Give Thanks Daily, “Rachel the Pig” is a Piggy Bank For Those in Need!

Rachel stands guard at the entrance to the market, right in front of where the fish are thrown. Stop by and cointribute some coins on your way to dining with us!

Rachel the Pig is a collector of coins and cash every day of the year to help those that need it most, are less fortunate than the rest of us, and that give thanks all year long to everyone that can contribute.

The Pike Place Market Food Bank, The Pike Place Market Senior Center and The Pike Place Market Medical Clinic all benefit through our daily donations, and any amount helps, any amount. Pennies turn into dimes that turn into dollars and Rachel can eat and eat, she never surrenders!

As we give thanks with our families tomorrow (and every day) let’s all keep in mind how much a small contribution daily can make a huge difference through many lives. Rachel puts smiles on children’s faces, some of those children need help, and so do some of their grandparents.

Peace, love, warmth and comfort to everybody with a roof over their family and some coins to feed Rachel. She’s more than a photo-op; she actually serves many, and does more than most.

Cheer the day, every day, and stay safe & sane during this holiday season!

Lowell’s decorates for the best Seattle holiday tradition of 105 years!

Come watch the decorations go up over the next week as our TRADITIONS stay alive at LOWELL’S and in the market!

Here come the lights, trees, wreaths, banners, poinsettias and children’s laughter for the holidays. Schools out, we’ve got turkeys in the ovens, stuffing’s and gravy’s, walnut-maple butternut squash, homemade cranberries and more, more, more happening at Lowell’s. Whether you choose our Blueberry-Ricotta-Lemon Zest Pancakes for breakfast (or Slow Braised Corned Beef Brisket Hash & Eggs with crispy hash brownds and toast, All American classics, Dungeness Eggs Benedicts or, well, check the menu…) you are going to be reliving what your grandparents lived with their kids,( your parents, of course), tradition. In a world unpredictable, Lowell’s is a living room in the heart of Pike Place Market that has stood the tests of time and will instill all families with the same great warmth and cheer. Stop by and say hi, grab some of our free postcards (those are REALLY our waitresses back in 1957, standing in the back of the kitchen; check out those awesome uniforms) to send to friends and family.

“Almost Classy”… since 1957, when Reid Lowell took over from Mr. Manning (of Manning’s Coffee) and then when Mr. Lowell passed Lowell’s along to the Chatalas family in the seventies, we kept his name alive. It’s all about family, and after all, Reid put the bar in way back when, and we HAD to properly thank him!

Rebecca at Market News, entrance to the market, will guide you to us!

Rebecca will guide you to Lowell’s!

Our corner newstand, MARKET NEWS, is staffed by the friendliest and interesting people at the perfect spot, the entrance to the main arcade! Rebecca, always a smiling face, will sell you the newspaper from wherever in the world you want, or a magazine, to read while enjoying solo dining at our bar or on one of our other floors!

Filming “Top Chef Seattle” from Lowell’s Arcade booth windows, 2nd floor “Bar at the Market” level!

While shooting the current TOP CHEF SEATTLE (Wednesday’s on Bravo), our guest’s got a great birds eye view of the celebrity chef’s filming arcade market scenes from our 2nd floor booths. Not only did we luck out and get to try some of the contestant’s offerings, but they lucked out and got to taste some of ours! We’re not TOP CHEF celebrities, but we are very proud of our unsolicited accolades from many of the celebrity chef’s, some of those framed in our front window. Mario Batali raving about his favorite Pacific Northwest breakfasts at LOWELL’S and the fantastic Food Network episode Giada DeLaurentis shot here on our 3rd floor, extolling the freshness of our veggie omelet, view and authenticity! (copy & paste in your browser to see her notes, we couldn’t put the video in our window) www.foodnetwork.com/local/wa-seattle/lowells-restaurant-bar-at-pike-place-market-restaurant/index.html#/38.736171/-97.222306/4/)

Warm up with Lowell’s fresh Northwest Manila steamers!

Fresh, local and sustainable Manila clams come to us daily from the local clam harvesters working the clam-beds out on the Olympic Peninsula. We soak them to remove any residual gritty sand, then fill a pan with them, dry white wine, garlic, butter and herbs and then heat them up until they are a hot, brothy, steaming bowl of goodness! We throw a couple fresh home-made & grilled “Le Panier” baguette crostinis on the side to soak broth, and you enjoy. Head up to the second floor, let Max or Tyler get you a window table (or sink back into a booth overlooking the market arcade, people watching at its finest, and THIS view is offered nowhere else but Lowell’s)!  Accompany your steamers with a frothy, local micro-brew from Pike Place Brewing (www.pikebrewing.com) or (Georgetown Brewing (www.georgetownbeer.com) or one of the great wines, cocktails or “mock-tails” (non-alcoholic fresh infusion drinks) we dream up. (Sorry for the picture quality, I only had my “phone camera” on me!)
