Lowell's Restaurant Seattle

Making Toast since Grandma was a child!

Gold Toast
A little over sixty years ago Manning’s Coffee Cafeteria became LOWELL’S Restaurant, when the Manning’s decided to concentrate solely on selling coffee and Reid Lowell bought their flagship Pike Place Market location as they disbanded their 20+ cafeterias up and down the west coast. To this day we’ll occasionally have grandparents bring in their grandchildren and reminisce over fresh blueberry pancakes about old Seattle, while watching the cargo ships coming into port and the ferries head across Elliot Bay towards their various destinations.

He’s back at Lowell’s, just returned from the old country!

Never surrender!

Research & Development Department: Bernardo

Our big man on campus bar operative, Bernardo Tati, has just returned to the fold with new and unique recipes for our infused elixirs. His schedule varies, come ask Tina, Patrick, or Coral when he’ll be back in to mingle, while draining a glass or three of his previous finds.

Catch you on the 2nd floor, hidden behind the glass!

Long time no post, summer over, need discipline!!

OK, Autumn is here, and Ron is bitching at me to resume blogging, of which I’ve been horribly negligent, OK Ron, I’ll start slow and take new pictures and start talking about all the changes in Pike Place Market and bragging about our new, fresh food and drink options. Since I’m starting at my home office, getting ready to head into Lowell’s, I don’t have access to all of my recent photos and recipes, but later today I’ll attach some.

With the cooler weather we are starting fall menu specials; spiced hot punches (bad pun, as they do punch you!) and some smoked items (smoked salmon and roasted root vegetable hash…AWESOME) so have had to hire a few new kitchen staff, they’re pictured below.

Be back in touch later, and thanks for the picture from “The Redneck Riviera” down in Florida Ron (Hi Ashley!) they are always disturbing!

Cheers,

Mark
