Eventually, and soon, Marriage Equality will be as common as the most “All-American” breakfast nationwide, Bacon & Eggs. Lowell’s welcomes everyone with open arms, love, peace and pride.

When our guest’s don’t think twice about ordering their bacon & eggs in the morning, there is subliminal consciousness at work hardwired within their brains. They found something they love, accept it without thinking twice, and their day begins. A simple plate of bacon & eggs.

As with innumerable actions in our lives, there are no cognitive decisions to make when we choose the most oblique and common decisions of our days. I believe ALL people in America, of “sound mind and body” are hardwired to want to help others, seek social groups as a means of joy & communication over anger and hate, and to want happiness for all members of their families and friends.

To “fear” being threatened by external forces beyond our control is also hardwired in as a survival instinct, and “fight or flight” a natural reaction requiring no decision making in the face of REAL danger. The danger of hurt, exclusion, impending disaster and being alone, to name a few.

I believe it is inevitable that the Marriage Equality Act will become an accepted norm; as accepted as the unconscious ease with which we do something as simple as ordering a plate of bacon and eggs. There is just no threat contained within love and acceptance.

There may be insecurity, there may be fear of rejection by peers ignorant of the facts, and there may be a belief structure passed down by parents and family that supersedes an individual’s ability to decide for them what threatens the beliefs that they OWN, as opposed to the beliefs of others that they FOLLOW.

Standing up for our OWN beliefs, and not the beliefs of those that exert energy to oppose what another human wants or needs, in order to fulfill their OWN life and happiness, is a strong statement of individuality when one opposes those close to them in order to “fit in” with their OWN circle.

The simple action of endorsing that ALL individuals are accorded the same rights, to live happy fulfilled lives of love and peace and happiness, should be as hardwired into ourselves as the simplicity of ordering breakfast. You don’t have to follow my decision, and why would I care about yours, you OWN it.

Stand up for yourself and refrain from fearing the reactions of those intolerant of YOUR life, that YOU are lucky enough to have, living in an American society founded on the rights of all. Read the paper and understand we have immeasurable rights that the rest of the world can only dream of having.

The ability to live our OWN lives, find love, without fleeing the persecution of other’s that are afraid to stand behind their OWN life choices, that we find no reason to fear. Pursue peace, own up, and stand on our OWN two feet while enjoying freedom accorded ALL.

My breakfast option is maybe different from yours; do you care what I order? Why on Earth would you, it’s MY breakfast, enjoy YOURS, YOU decided for yourself, and I was able to decide for me!
